Fieldwork ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data We Collect

Account Information

• When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your real email.

User-Generated Content

• Observation text you write in response to challenges
• Grounding session ratings
• Gallery posts you choose to share publicly

Usage Data

• Challenge completions, streaks, XP, level progress, and sense balance
• Subscription status
• App interaction events via Firebase Analytics (screen views, feature usage)

Device Information

• Firebase Analytics may collect device model, OS version, and general location (country/region level) for analytics purposes. We do not collect precise location.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalize the app experience (challenge selection, difficulty progression, insights)
• To sync your data across devices via Firebase Cloud Firestore
• To generate weekly insight reports and awareness scores
• To display anonymous observations in the public gallery (only when you choose to share)
• To understand usage patterns and improve the app via aggregated analytics

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) with security rules that isolate your data from other users. Only you can read and write your own observations and profile. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Observations cached locally on your device are stored in your app's sandboxed storage and are not accessible to other apps.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:

• Firebase/Google: For authentication, data storage, and analytics infrastructure
• Apple: For Sign in with Apple authentication and subscription management
• Gallery posts: Observations you submit to the public gallery are visible to all users, displayed anonymously (no name or identifier attached)

5. Your Choices

• Gallery sharing: You choose whether to submit observations to the public gallery. This is always opt-in.
• Account deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your data from Firestore within 30 days.
• Therapist export: PDF exports are generated on-device and shared via the iOS share sheet. We do not receive or store exported PDFs.

6. Children's Privacy

Fieldwork is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
