By downloading or using Fieldwork ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Use of the App

Fieldwork is an attention-training and mindfulness app. It is not a medical device, therapy tool, or substitute for professional mental health care. The Grounding Mode feature is a self-help tool and is not a replacement for crisis intervention or clinical treatment.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline.

2. Account

You must sign in with Apple to use Fieldwork. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

3. Subscriptions

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions).

Prices may change. We will notify you of price changes in advance. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the observation text you write. By submitting an observation to the public gallery, you grant Fieldwork a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that observation anonymously within the app. You can request removal of gallery posts by contacting us.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, threatening, or violates the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

The Fieldwork app, including its design, challenges, code, artwork, and branding, is owned by Fieldwork and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the app.

6. Limitation of Liability

Fieldwork is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fieldwork shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress.

Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Fieldwork if you violate these terms. You may stop using the app at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases, but provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Fieldwork operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
